Nicholas Alan Cope

Inspired by the light in California, artist Nicholas Alan Cope moved to Los Angeles in 2004 to study 
photography. His early work focused on the essential components of L.A.’s architecture and landscape and ultimately 
informed Nicholas’ first-ever video piece, which he created exclusively for Joseph Abboud. Nicholas says, “I wanted 
to shoot L.A. in a new way, for me and for others… it’s a place where you make your own city within in a city.” To 
capture his unique view, Nicholas took cues from nature films and used innovative filming techniques to create a film 
that offers a look at Los Angeles as a living breathing landscape, as seen through the lens of a self-made artist.
